Waterfalls.

One increasingly popular application for selected bulk stone is the construction of waterfalls. Here we have some pictures that illustrate some things than can be done with waterfalls, which provide a soothing ambience, a focus of interest, a source of nurture for living things, and a way of cleansing and aerating the water in ponds.

Construction.
This pond has already been dug, with the material from the pond providing topsoil to start covering the stone in the lower waterfall.
Completion.
Here you see the same waterfall, but finished. Notice the integrated retaining wall for the flowerbed to the right of the pond.
Closeup.
This is a closeup of the head of the fall. The water outlet is topped by a capstone to prevent accumulation of wind-bourne debris and to force the water to turn downwards.
A Picture of an Exhibition.
This is a waterfall that we created for one of our exhibits. As you can see, it is completely self-contained and would be ideal for a position as a corner-piece of a garden, where the depth of the flowerbeds makes gardening and weeding an unusually difficult chore.

These are just a couple of examples of waterfalls. There are endless places for waterfalls, both large and small, in gardens, parks, and even indoors !
